Q&A

What was the first job you had?

I worked part-time at my family's jewelry store in South Florida. My time spent in the store helped foster an early appreciation for the consumer and retail industries. Each day, individuals would walk in and trust us with the goal of finding a piece that they would associate with a special occasion or sentiment. These early experiences impressed upon me just how powerful and intimate the relationship between a brand and consumer can be.

What attracted you to TSG?

TSG's unwavering focus on all things consumer sparked my initial interest in the firm. I was excited by the opportunity to invest exclusively in leading consumer brands, as TSG has done successfully over several decades. However, it wasn't just the love for consumer - learning more about the incredible people and culture through the recruiting process is what really cemented my desire to join.

What brings you the most joy in your job?

I've been told that I'm typically smiling in the office more than most, so joy in the job isn't too foreign of a concept. I attribute the attitude to a healthy dose of gratitude about the people around me. I have the privilege of working with and learning from some of the brightest and most caring individuals with whom I've crossed paths. Even better that I get to do so against the backdrop of consumer brands that we're all genuinely passionate about.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

"Worrying is like a rocking chair. You'll go back and forth but never get anywhere." Whenever life gets a bit too serious or stressful, as it often can, I'll think back to this quote. It's helped me take a step back and maintain a sense of composure through a variety of challenges.
