For more than four decades, Duckhorn Wine Company has helped set the standard for American fine wines. What started as a single vineyard in Napa Valley has grown to include 600 acres of estate vineyards across California and Washington, four winemaking facilities, and three visitor centers. With a pioneering spirit and unwavering commitment to quality, Duckhorn’s six luxury wine brands focus on optimal grape selection and innovative winemaking techniques, resulting in a premium product, from vine to wine.
Our Partnership
We had been evaluating a number of opportunities across the luxury wine segment. With its world-class estate program and respected portfolio of brands, including Duckhorn Vineyards, Paraduxx, Goldeneye, Migration, Decoy, and Canvasback, Duckhorn Wine Company was especially appealing to us. We were fortunate to develop a strong relationship with its management team during the transaction process, which led to a shared desire to partner and grow the business together. Our investment was completed in October 2016.
Strategic Focus
As a partner to Duckhorn management, a best-in-class team that has delivered incredible results, we are focused on using our consumer expertise to support several aspects of their business. We are evaluating M&A opportunities, looking to expand product distribution, investing in sales and marketing, and identifying and growing specific varietals that are less represented in Duckhorn’s current portfolio.
