Q&A

What was the first job you had?

I tutored math and reading to students at Kumon Learning Center during my senior year of high school. I enjoyed creating a space where students looked forward to going to after school. Most of the students were under 10 years old and treated the lessons like games, so it always felt fun.

What brings you the most joy in your job?

Reaching the flow state; being so absorbed and engaged in a project that time flies by. As an accountant, I often compare it to the journey of solving a complex sudoku puzzle. It’s the perfect mix of challenge and creativity. The more complex, the more rewarding.

If you were to start your own business, what would it be and why?

A candy store! It’s no secret that I have the biggest sweet-tooth, so owning a candy store would be a dream come true. I just can’t decide what the name of my shop would be - Dandy Candy? The Candy Bar? Open to suggestions.
