Leading Branded Consumer Products Private Equity Firm to Establish
Broader Presence Among Mid-Market Growth Companies
NEW YORK, NY, May 08, 2007 – TSG Consumer Partners (“TSG”), the San Francisco-based private equity firm that is the leading investor in branded consumer products companies, announced today that it has expanded its New York City staff and appointed Alexander S. Panos, a Managing Director, to head the new team.
Mr. Panos transferred from the firm’s San Francisco headquarters, along with Yasser U. Toor, also a senior Managing Director. The New York staff additionally has been joined by Melis Kahya, an Associate who previously was an investment banking analyst at JP Morgan specializing in the consumer, retail and apparel sectors.
“This is a major step for TSG and one dictated by our firm’s established and growing interest in such areas as luxury goods, beauty products, apparel and specialty retail chains, in addition to our traditional investments in the food, beverage, and household products,” said Mr. Panos.
Founded 20 years ago, TSG pioneered the use of private equity in high-growth, middle-market branded consumer companies. TSG currently manages approximately $1.5 billion in equity capital. The firm has achieved a 59% compounded annual return since its inception.
