Chuck Esserman

Chuck Esserman, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, co-founded TSG Consumer Partners.

Chuck has over 20 years of private equity investment experience and, together with the partners of TSG, built the first and most experienced consumer focused equity fund in the United States. Chuck oversees current and prospective portfolio investments for the firm and is Chair of the Investment Committee. Prior to TSG, Chuck was with Bain & Company, a leading management consulting company. Chuck received his BS, with top honors, in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and an MBA from Stanford, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar. He is a member of the Advisory Council at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a member of the Board of Overseers of the Hoover Institution.

John Kenney

John Kenney, Managing Director, helps oversee New York and East Coast origination activities for the firm in addition to diligencing new business opportunities, structuring transactions, and working with our partner companies.

John is also a member of the Investment Committee. Prior to joining TSG, John was with AEA Investors where he was a Managing Director and co-head of the consumer product and retail investment practice. Previously, John worked at Investcorp International, Centre Partners, and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. He holds a B.S. from Boston College.

Pierre LeComte

Pierre LeComte, Managing Director, works with our partner companies on business strategy and is also responsible for originating and diligencing new investment opportunities.

He is also a member of the Investment Committee. Pierre was formerly a Manager with Bain & Company, where he led strategic diligence teams in the private equity practice and worked across consumer goods sectors including food, household products, and durables. Prior to joining Bain, Pierre worked in brand management with Yahoo and the Nabisco Biscuit Company, managing brands such as SnackWell’s and Chips Ahoy. He also was a packaged goods and retail consultant with the New England Consulting Group, focusing on branding strategy, new product introductions, and strategic planning. Pierre holds a BS in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.

Hadley Mullin

Hadley Mullin, Managing Director, is responsible for originating new investment opportunities, diligencing new business opportunities, structuring transactions, and working with our partner companies.

She is also a member of the Investment Committee. Prior to joining TSG, Hadley was with Bain & Company where she worked in a variety of practice areas, including consumer products, retail, and healthcare. Her experience includes business unit strategy, sales and marketing optimization, and new product development. Hadley also worked in Bain’s private equity practice, where she conducted strategic and operational due diligence for private equity clients. Hadley received a BA, with top honors, in Government from Dartmouth College and an MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, where she was an Arjay Miller Scholar.

Jamie O'hara

Jamie O'Hara, Managing Director, oversees transaction structuring, diligence, financing and investment execution at the firm and is a member of the Investment Committee.

His experience also includes business unit strategy, facility rationalization and new business development for consumer and household products companies. Jamie is a former practicing corporate and securities attorney and a former consultant at Bain & Company. At Bain, Jamie conducted strategic and operational due diligence and developed portfolio company strategy for leading private equity clients. He holds a BA in Economics and Philosophy and a JD, both from Georgetown University.

Alex Panos

Alex Panos, Managing Director, is responsible for origination of and due diligence on new investments, structuring transactions, and working with our partner companies on strategy.

He is also a member of the Investment Committee. He was formerly an investment banker at Bear Stearns and Merrill Lynch. Alex holds a BS degree in Economics and an MBA, both from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he has established a Research Fund for the Marketing Department.

Diane Miles

Diane Miles, TSG Beauty, has over 20 years of experience building premier cosmetics and skincare brands.

She is President and CEO of Perricone MD and an advisor to other beauty brands within TSG’s portfolio. Previously, Diane was the President of Bare Escentuals and CEO of Benefit Cosmetics. She is a graduate of The School of Pharmacy, University of London.

Blythe Jack

Blythe Jack, Principal, is primarily focused on originating new investment opportunities.

Blythe joins TSG with extensive private equity and consumer experience, having spent over 10 years at Rosewood Capital and, most recently, having served as CEO of a high-growth consumer products company. While a partner at Rosewood Capital, Blythe sourced and structured investments in the health & beauty, apparel, specialty retail, restaurant, consumer products and services segments. She has also served as a National Judge for Ernst & Young's acclaimed Entrepreneur of the Year® program. Blythe received a BA with honors in Communication Studies from Vanderbilt University.

Brian Krumrel

Brian Krumrei, Principal, is responsible for originating and diligence new investment opportunities and also works with our partner companies on business strategy.

He was formerly a Director of Corporate Development at Asurion. Prior to joining Asurion, Brian worked at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. and in the Private Equity Group at Blackstone. Brian received a BS in Economics and a BAS in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated magna cum laude.

Robyn Rutledge

Robyn Lawrie Rutledge, Principal, is responsible for originating new investment opportunities, conducting due diligence on new business opportunities, structuring transactions, and working with our partner companies.

Previously, Robyn worked at Thoma Cressey Equity Partners where she focused on the consumer products and marketing services sectors. Prior to that, she was an investment banker at Goldman Sachs in the Mergers and Strategic Advisory Group. Robyn received a Bachelor of Commerce degree with First Class Honors from Queen’s University in Canada and an MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, where she was an Arjay Miller Scholar.

Jenny Baxter

Jenny Baxter, Vice President, is involved in originating, structuring and conducting due diligence on new investment opportunities as well as working with our partner companies.

Before joining TSG Consumer Partners, Jenny was a consultant at Bain & Company where she worked in several industries, including consumer products and retail, and across multiple practice areas including brand strategy, merger integration, and organizational design. Jenny also worked in Bain's private equity practice, where she conducted strategic and operational due diligence for private equity clients. In addition, Jenny spent several months working in the Gap Brand strategy group. Jenny received a dual degree in Economics and Communications from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Dan Costello

Dan Costello, Vice President, works with our partner companies and is responsible for new deal origination and diligence.

Before joining TSG Consumer Partners, Dan was with Wachovia Securities, where he advised consumer and retail clients across a variety of transactions including mergers and acquisitions and debt and equity financings. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BS in Finance from Miami University.

Melis Kahya

Melis Kahya, Vice President, works with our partner companies and is involved in originating, structuring and due diligence on new investments.

Before joining TSG Consumer Partners, Melis worked as an investment banking analyst at JPMorgan where she focused on the consumer and retail sectors. She received a BS degree in Electrical Engineering and Economics, with distinction, from Yale University and an MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

Ed Wong

Ed Wong, Vice President, works with our partner companies and is involved in originating, structuring and the due diligence of new investments.

Ed was formerly with Falconhead Capital, a private equity fund focused on consumer, retail and media sectors. Prior to Falconhead, Ed was an investment banker at Citigroup, where he was also focused on consumer and retail industries. Ed received a Bachelor of Business Administration from The Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.

Karen Hart

Karen Hart, Senior Associate, is responsible for originating new investment opportunities, conducting due diligence on new business opportunities, structuring transactions, and working with our partner companies.

Before joining TSG Consumer Partners, Karen worked as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs in Hong Kong and New York, where she advised private equity and corporate clients on M&A, financing, and risk management transactions. Karen has also completed internships at Nike and Warburg Pincus. She received a BA degree in Religion, with High Honors, from Dartmouth College and an MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

Mike Layman

Mike Layman, Senior Associate, works with our partner companies and is responsible for new deal origination and diligence.

Before joining TSG Consumer Partners, Michael was an investment banker with Jefferies & Company and Wachovia Securities, where he advised consumer and retail clients on a variety of transactions including mergers and acquisitions and debt and equity financings. Michael graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BS in Accounting from Arizona State University.

Dan Hockenmaier

Dan Hockenmaier, Associate, works with our partner companies and is responsible for new deal origination and diligence.

Before joining TSG Consumer Partners, Dan was a consultant with the Boston Consulting Group, where he worked primarily for consumer and retail clients on topics including mergers and acquisitions strategy, profitability improvement, and branding. Dan graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.

Eric Hoest

Eric Hoest, Associate, works with our Partner Companies and is involved in due diligence of our investments.

Prior to joining TSG, Eric was an investment banker at Lazard where he advised middle market clients in a number of industries including consumer products and retail, and across a variety of transactions including mergers and acquisitions, restructurings and equity financings. Eric graduated with a BA in Economics from Middlebury College.

Eric Johnson

Erik Johnson, Associate, works with our partner companies and is involved in due diligence of our investments.

Before joining TSG Consumer Partners, Erik was an investment banker at Sawaya Segalas, where he advised consumer products clients on mergers and acquisitions. Erik graduated Cum Laude with a BA in Economics from Vanderbilt University.

Virginia Calve-Garcia

Virginia Calvo-Garcia, Controller, is responsible for financial and tax reporting, audit compliance and managing administrative systems.

Before joining TSG Consumer Partners, Virginia worked as a Vice President in the private equity partners group of Merrill Lynch Investment Managers/BlackRock. Prior to that, she worked at Goldman Sachs in the hedge fund group and private equity fund controller's group. Virginia began her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers where she performed financial due diligence in M&A transactions. She received a BS degree in Accounting and International Business, Cum Laude, from New York University. She is a NYS Certified Public Accountant.

Ainsley TeGrotenhuis

Ainsley TeGrotenhuis, Director of Marketing and Social Media, is responsible for TSG's marketing activities and advising its portfolio partners on their Marketing and Social Media strategies.

Before joining TSG Consumer Partners Ainsley led marketing for CNN's digital properties, focusing on CNN.com, iReport and CNN's mobile extensions. She led the award winning Digital Marketing team's efforts across platforms including online, mobile, social media, television, print, and on-the-ground events. Ainsley received a BA from The George Washington University and an MBA from Emory University's Goizueta Business School.
